Bandung ACM Chapter Appoints New Chair for 2026–2028 Term

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Bandung Chapter has officially announced the appointment of its new Chair for the 2026–2028 term, marking an important milestone in the organization’s continued commitment to advancing computing research and professional collaboration in the region.

Following an internal consultation and voting process among its registered members, the Chapter has appointed Andriyan Bayu Suksmono, Ph.D. as the new Chair of the Bandung ACM Chapter. His term will run from February 28, 2026, to February 29, 2028.

The appointment reflects a strong consensus within the organization, with 11 out of 18 registered members formally expressing their approval. This collective agreement highlights the confidence of the community in Prof. Suksmono’s leadership and vision for the Chapter’s future.

The Bandung ACM Chapter operates as a professional community under ACM, focusing on fostering innovation, supporting academic and industrial collaboration, and strengthening engagement within the computing community. Effective leadership is considered essential to guide the Chapter’s programs, activities, and long-term development.

As Chair, Prof. Suksmono will be responsible for leading the Chapter in alignment with ACM’s governance principles and objectives. His role includes overseeing strategic initiatives, facilitating member engagement, and ensuring the Chapter continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of computing in Indonesia.

The resolution confirming this appointment was formally adopted and issued in Bandung on March 1, 2026, by the Election Committee of the Bandung ACM Chapter.

The Election Committee, chaired by Kusmadi Andinata, emphasized that the appointment process was conducted transparently and in accordance with the Chapter’s governance procedures.

This leadership transition is expected to further strengthen the Bandung ACM Chapter’s role as a hub for computing professionals, researchers, and students, while expanding its impact both locally and internationally.
